Memorial Day 2022

It was formerly observed on May 30 from 1868 to 1970. Now it is observed

the last Monday of May…calendar date for 2022 is:

Monday May 30, 2022

It is a federal holiday observed every year in May, honoring those who died

in the United States military.

Memorial Day weekend kicks off the start of the summer season and

Labor Day weekend ends the summer.

Most government and business offices will be closed on this Day.

National Moment of Remembrance

On May 3, 2000 the United States (signed by then President Bill Clinton) government pushed out the “National Moment of Remembrance” for Americans at 3p.m. local time on Memorial Day to take several minutes and stop and reflect and have awareness and reverence for those who have died defending our Nation and our values.

It's always good to thank people for serving in the military,

it's unnecessary to do it on Memorial Day

Memorial Day is intended to remember this who gave their lives.

So what does America do on those three days called the Memorial Day Weekend?

1. People visit cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries

2. Summer cookouts, grilling, burgers, hotdogs, ice cream…

3. Seriously, properly pause, reflect, and pay your respects to the soldiers, men and women, who paid the ultimate price…gave their lives for this country.
